IF THE LITTLE MERMAID LIVED TODAY

Doing something about the plastic pollution of our environment, especially the oceans, is a real concern of mine. When I was given the task of creating a minute film, I immediately thought of the little mermaid. I wonder how her attempt to become human would go today?
For the stage set, I used the plastic waste collected from two households over the past three months and poured it into my bathtub.
„If the little mermaid lived today“ represented Sweden at UNICA 2020, a festival for non-commercial film under the auspices of UNESCO. The Swedish Film and Video Association wrote: „We would like to have your little film here, it is thought-provoking, both funny and serious and conveys an important message without moralising. Imaginative and creative. Less is more …“
